As we approach the end of 2024, we have a monumental victory to share that underscores the importance of standing up for our religious liberties.

Six dedicated employees of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) faced termination after their sincere religious accommodation requests to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate were denied.

One employee, with over 30 years of service and a decade of perfect attendance, was dismissed without consideration for his faith. These individuals chose to stand firm in their convictions, even at the cost of their livelihoods.

With the Pacific Justice Institute's (PJI) representation, a federal jury delivered a unanimous verdict in their favor on November 6, 2024, awarding them over $7 million in recognition of the injustice they faced.

This victory sends a powerful message about the importance of religious freedom in the workplace.

However, our work is far from over. Many others are still battling similar challenges, and the fight for religious rights continues as we head into 2025.
