FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Skagit County Solicits Public Input on Proposed Revisions to the Public Health Schedule of Charges
Skagit County Public Health collects fees according to the Schedule of Charges to cover the costs of services provided for reviewing and processing permits, performing required inspections, and enforcement of public health codes. To more closely reflect the actual costs for services such as permitting and inspecting food service establishments, on-site septic systems, drinking water systems, solid waste facilities, and more, Skagit County Public Health is proposing to revise the Schedule of Charges.
Revisions would affect all permit holders, licensees, and applicants for Environmental Health Services in the Retail Food, On-Site Sewage, Drinking Water, Water Recreation, and Living Environment programs in 2025, 2026, and 2027. The last major revisions to the schedule were made in 2019, with limited updates in 2021 and 2023. To view the proposed Schedule of Charges revisions, click here or visit the Skagit County Environmental Health webpage.
