This year, we are especially thankful for friends and family. The biggest blessing in our lives has been our community that has carried us through so much.
This year has come with many joys... Traveling to see several friends and their growing families; spending time canoeing, fishing and hiking in one of our favorite places on the Gunflint Trail; marveling at the northern lights for the first time; walking in 26 parades with friends and family; all the delicious and joyful church dinners and pancake breakfasts; Sunday School teaching and judging high school gymnastics meets (Emma); being named assistant leader of the Senate Republicans (Jordan); gathering with friends to study God’s word, and our forever favorite – hanging out with our 2 year old nephew.
...and also many reminders that we live in a fallen world: Losing Emma’s Grandma Pat; politics can be a tough business at times; experiencing the deep pain of a miscarriage.
This Christmas, we are reminded of the hope our Savior brings: of love, joy and new life in Him. Our hope remains in Jesus, not the fleeting comforts of this life. He is with us – Immanuel. Blessings and hope to you and your loved ones this season.
