The Board of Elections (Board) is urging voters to vote-by-mail for the Primary Election on June 2nd. You will need to request a ballot. The deadline to request a ballot is May 26th 

There will be a limited number of Vote Centers open, but we want to keep everyone safe and so we still strongly recommend requesting a mail-in ballot.

Ways to request a mail-in ballot:

  1. Download the Vote4DC App
  2. Call (202) 741-5283 to have your mail-in ballot request mailed to you
  3. Download the mail-in ballot form and email the completed form to [email protected]
  4. Download the main-in ballot form and fax the completed form to (202) 347-2648
  5. Download the mail-in ballot form, print, and send the completed form to: DC Board of Elections 1015 Half Street, SE, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20003

Note: The downloadable form states that you "must" print and sign, but you can save the completed form as a pdf and email it to [email protected]. The Board will accept unsigned request forms – but not ballots. You must sign your mail-in ballot.

Check the status of your request by using the Board’s ballot tracker. You can also see when the Board has received your completed mail-in ballot.

Vote Centers

For the Primary Election, 20 Vote Centers will be open from May 22nd - June 2nd, except on May 25th for Memorial Day. 

During early voting days, May 22nd - June 1st, the centers will be open 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and on Election Day, June 2nd, from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. 

You will need to wear a mask or face covering and follow social distancing protocols. A map of the Vote Centers can be found here.
