We've got some good news, and some not so good news. We'll share the good news first. Here it goes:

Our campaign has received an unprecedented number of individual donations. 2.5 million as of this week. That is incredible – no other campaign is anywhere near that number.

Now, the bad news:

During our 2016 campaign, the average was $27. On this campaign, it's closer to $19. And so far this month, the average has dipped even lower to $16.

Let us be very clear: Bernie is extremely proud of the way we are funding this campaign together. But it's important that we stay on track with our opponents who are collecting $2,800 max-out checks. In order to do that, we have two choices:

1. More individual donations
2. Donations made in slightly larger amounts

Usually when we ask people to contribute to our 2020 campaign for the first time, we ask for $2.70. Today we are going to ask you for a little bit more.

Your contribution will make a BIG difference for our campaign. Can Bernie count on you to chip in today?

This campaign is made possible by more than 850,000 people contributing what they can to build our movement.

We hope you'll join them today by making your first contribution to our 2020 campaign.

In solidarity,

Team Bernie
