Free speech can-quite literally-change and save lives. I want to remind you about a woman who is using her story to do just that, all thanks to your help.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit with and hear the transformative story of Jean Marie Davis. She has been a fighter and survivor long before she found herself in the throes of a legal battle.

Abused. Trafficked. Addicted to drugs. Then pregnant, alone, and in danger. That was her life-and she wasn't even thirty.

By the grace of God, she wound up at a pregnancy resource center that saved her life and the life of her unborn baby. It was through this experience that she also met Jesus who transformed her from the inside out. As a result of that life change, she has dedicated her future to saving lives just like her and those like her baby.  

Now, a decade later, Jean Marie serves as the director of another clinic, Branches Pregnancy Resource Center, reaching women facing many of the same struggles she endured.

But the state of Vermont is muzzling pro-life pregnancy centers like Branches, censoring their ability to advertise their services to women in need.

The state law targets only the pregnancy centers that offer life-affirming care. It's unconstitutional and discriminatory-and it harms women who are likely already in crisis.

ADF is standing with Branches and two other pregnancy resource centers in a lawsuit so they can speak freely to the women who walk through their doors. And we're relying on your generous giving to continue standing beside them and other pregnancy centers in the new year.

We're running out of time before our year-end deadline, December 31. I'm asking for your help to raise $12.2 million to ensure we're well equipped in the new year.

I think of my dear friends who run a pregnancy resource center in Texas. The women they serve have urgent needs-and many have deep wounds. Through compassionate support and access to critical resources, the center is showing these women the love of Christ.

But laws in Vermont, California, New York, New Jersey, and others strongarm pro-life pregnancy centers into silence and restrict their ability to serve women.

These attacks on pregnancy resource centers have only increased in recent years. We can expect that to continue.
