Friend, I wanted to update you on where things stand with our year-end fundraising campaign.
I'll start with the bad news first: We have just eight days left to reach our $50,000 year-end goal to fuel our efforts to fight the attacks we know are coming in 2025 on public media, Net Neutrality and press freedom. As of today, we’re not there yet.
But here's the good news: If just a fraction of the people reading this email donated $5 or more, we'd hit our goal in no time.
What we raise in this giving season will directly impact the work we can do in 2025. I notice you haven’t donated to Free Press yet — will you make a tax-deductible gift today? A generous donor will match your donation, so there’s never been a better time to give.
As the chief financial officer for Free Press, I think a lot about securing the resources needed to sustain and grow our work — including support from people like you!
But this work is personal. And I believe strongly in our ability in this moment to confront and combat the country’s slide toward authoritarianism. Our team of policy experts, lawyers and campaigners have fought the Trump administration and the media moguls enabling it tooth and nail before — and we’re prepared to do it again.
Our independence is what allows us to challenge powerful media and tech giants without hesitation or strings attached. We don't accept a cent from business, government or political parties. That’s why hitting our year-end goal is so important.
Please take a moment now to make your first tax-deductible gift to Free Press. Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar you give will be DOUBLED. That means $25 = $50, $125 = $250 and so on.
Thank you for everything you do,
Kimberly Longey
