As Children’s Advocates for Change looks back on 2024, we’re proud of our accomplishments that included training more youth in underserved communities in advocacy skills, holding a Child Poverty Forum in East St. Louis, and securing a state Child Tax Credit.

However, we know there’s a tremendous amount of work ahead of us in 2025. Changes on the federal level could bring about a restructuring of child care, health care programs for poor families, and food assistance. At the same time, the state of Illinois is facing a projected budget deficit for the next fiscal year of more than $3 billion.

In such times of uncertainty, it is important that there be a strong, steady, reliable voice standing firm for the resource children need to thrive. No matter how tough the challenge, Children’s Advocates for Change will be there for Illinois kids.
