Dear Friend,

”We left our homes with so little, and USCRI has given us so much.”

With these words, Mr. Baliwabo, the father of a beautiful family who fled the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo, reflects on the impact that support from people like you makes in the lives of refugee families.

Your support means even more this holiday season, especially with refugee resettlement and immigration in the political crosshairs. ([link removed])

Mr. Baliwabo and his family have been warmly welcomed in Cleveland, one of 12 communities nationwide where USCRI helps refugees and immigrants rebuild their lives. Northeast Ohio is home to more that 150 different ethnic communities—a beautiful patchwork stitched together by several hundred years of immigrants and newcomers. Fleeing war, violence, and persecution, they arrive seeking a chance to heal from past traumas and begin anew.

What was true for those arriving yesterday is the same for those arriving today and tomorrow—the ability to overcome the challenges of being a newcomer and to ultimately give back to their new country.

It all starts with people like you, Friend. You’ve already done so much this year, but could you provide a generous holiday gift at this urgent time? ([link removed])

Each day, across the country, USCRI’s team picks up families from the airport, schedules medical visits, facilitates employment interviews, and helps enroll students in their new schools.

With your passion and support, we can continue to do this life-transforming work this holiday and beyond. Thank you for your heartfelt commitment to welcoming refugees.

With my thanks,

Dylanna Grasinger
