John,

It’s the time of year when many of us choose to celebrate with lights, gifts, and most importantly, community. Here at Race Forward, what we want most for the holidays is for our community to come together to shore up our multiracial democracy. Our wish list includes:

Three Branches of Governing Power

Whether by organizing government workers with GARE, or the multiple policy toolkits we release every year, or the Policy Innovation Lab, which is currently working to develop community-led policies on Climate Change, our goal is always to ensure the voices of the people most impacted by policy decisions are heard in the halls of government, and to provide the resources needed to build our governing power.

More Folks A-Training

In order to do this work, people need a shared understanding, a shared roadmap for the work, and a genuine desire to operationalize racial equity practices and policies. That’s why Race Forward offers comprehensive, interactive training to help participants build racial analysis, apply common tools, and develop strong relationships that will move us toward a shared vision of our future.

A Diversity of Golden Narratives For Our Future

The story of our successful multiracial democracy must stand against the dominant narrative, which reinforces racism and creates division amongst us. The real and true stories we tell about our people and our movements play a significant role in shaping our views and, ultimately, the practices, policies, and systems we support.

We provide regular narrative training and two narrative toolkits for activists and advocates to help tell our real story and make our vision of a just, multiracial democracy into a reality.

And Finally: Donations

In a movement like ours, everybody has a part to play, and many of us play multiple roles depending on the need and our capacity.

Some of us are facilitating training, some are taking them. Some of us work in government, others of us support with community work, voting, and staying up to date on policies. Others of us are creating the story of our movement even as we’re living it day to day.

And through all of that, there are donors like you who pay for scholarships, for training space, instructor time, resources, experienced staff, necessary tools, and so much more so we can rise to the challenge of preserving and growing our multiracial democracy.

GIVE TODAY

If you haven’t donated yet, please fulfill our holiday wishes for the future of our mulitracial democracy by donating today and helping to support our work and mission.

Sincerely,

Timarie Harrigan

Vice President, Development and Partnerships
