Email from The Center For Genetics and Society Donate today! Dear John, CGS expertly navigates the tricky scientific and political terrain surrounding biotechnologies and assisted reproduction. But we don’t do this alone: We’ve built an extensive network of advocates and scholars who bring diverse perspectives on reproductive and genetic technologies. Support CGS Here are a few things we’ve accomplished in 2024: Published groundbreaking Social Justice and Human Rights Principles on Heritable Human Genome Editing (in English, Spanish, and German), developed by scholars, advocates, and organizations from 10 countries. Launched an ongoing essay series exploring eugenics in science, medicine, and biotechnologies with our colleagues at UC Berkeley’s Othering and Belonging Institute. Released new Principles and Standards for Engaging in International Commercial Surrogacy Arrangements and updated our maps of current surrogacy laws, making Surrogacy360 the go-to website for clear and unbiased information on transnational surrogacy. In 2025, we will organize convenings of reproductive, disability, and LGBTQ rights and justice organizations to strategize around IVF and reproductive technologies. We will expand the Legacies of Eugenics essays and events series. And we will play a key role in the upcoming Summit on human genome editing – the first to prioritize participation by civil society. Donate today!   Your gift to CGS keeps our unique work going strong. Will you help us achieve our goal of raising $25,000 to kick off 2025?
