2025 will be a pivotal moment in the climate justice movement—there’s no doubt that the incoming Trump administration will do everything in its power to roll back environmental wins and block necessary climate advancements.

But we’re leading with hope. 2024 has been a huge year for the climate movement, and California has been at the forefront of positive change every step of the way.

We’re hard at work preparing for what’s ahead. This much we already know: We’ve secured climate wins under Trump before, and with your help we’ll do it again.

Here’s how I know we can take on hard fights: During Trump’s first term we helped pass the landmark Great American Outdoors Act to protect public land and parks. When he tried to dismantle voting rights, we successfully led a comprehensive vote-by-mail program. And when his administration tried to roll back California’s national monuments, we stepped up to protect key landmarks like Sequoia National Park and the San Gabriel Mountains.

And the work never stopped. In 2024, we passed 12 major pieces of climate legislation, secured a historic $10 billion climate bond, and elected the greenest congressional delegation our state has ever seen.

Team, I won’t sugarcoat things—it’s not going to be easy to counter the anti-environmental trifecta in D.C. But with the support of climate champions like you, I’m confident that California can defend the progress we’ve made and keep pushing for bold action in 2025 and beyond.
