Dear John,

Over the course of the next 10 years, our Filtered Not Bottled campaign could prevent hundreds of billions of plastic bottles from being distributed in the U.S. And right now, [donations to support our efforts will be TRIPLE matched]([link removed]), thanks to the generosity of our Executive Advisory Board.

We are advocating for equitable drinking water solutions without plastic pollution: instead of providing plastic bottled water to communities, we are encouraging municipalities to provide filters certified to remove harmful contaminants, ensuring safe tap water while public water systems remove pollutants such as microplastics, lead, and forever chemicals.

We had some big wins in 2024. Following our concerted efforts and strong recommendations, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency included language in the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements that requires water systems with consistently high lead levels to provide filters, ensuring safe water access for many impacted families. We also met with ten key Senate offices to mobilize federal and state support for the distribution of filters, and financially supported frontline organizations impacted by lead pipes in six high-priority states.

[Your support will provide the resources we need]([link removed]) to continue to target decision-makers on stronger filter requirements. Increased support would boost our ongoing state-focused work, and expand Filtered Not Bottled to cover additional water contaminants like PFAS, particularly of concern in the Great Lakes, and to water crises during humanitarian and natural disasters in the U.S.

We greatly appreciate your help so that we may continue to advocate for clean water solutions for frontline communities impacted by lead pipes. Please[donate today to support Filtered Not Bottled]([link removed]) and TRIPLE your impact!

Onward,

[Madison Dennis]
