I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday season, John.
This is a time for reflection and gratitude. It’s also a time to remember the many blessings of family, friendship, and community. In particular, I’m reflecting on past holidays spent with my late wife, Emily. Here we are pictured at a holiday party at our alma mater, South Carolina State University, in 1960:
We’ve faced significant challenges this year, and the year ahead will demand our resolve as we prepare to navigate a new Trump Administration and protect the progress we’ve worked so hard to achieve. But it’s important to remember that we will continue to face those challenges together as a community.
The coming year will also offer countless opportunities to recommit ourselves to the cause of making America’s greatness accessible and affordable for all. Together, we will rise to meet the moment, fortified by the strength of our shared values and the resilience of our community.
Over the holidays, I encourage you to take this time for yourself and your loved ones. Rest and recharge so we can come back in 2025 ready to continue our work together.
From my family to yours, I wish you a blessed holiday season.
Jim
