2024 YEAR IN REVIEW:
RESTORING & ADVANCING REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS AROUND THE WORLD

Landmark lawsuits, international wins, and a galvanized global movement— this is what you made possible in 2024. With your generosity and partnership, the Center for Reproductive Rights is leading the fight for reproductive freedom—and we're not done yet.

Take a look at some of what your support made possible in 2024: [[link removed]]

* Seven U.S. states vote for constitutional protection for abortion or reproductive freedom.
Millions voted to enshrine abortion rights in their state constitutions, including in Colorado, where the Center helped support the effort to enshrine these protections. In Missouri, voters overturned a total abortion ban for the first time.
* A landmark case challenging Texas's dangerous abortion bans.
The Center represented 20 brave plaintiffs whose lives and health were threatened by Texas's extreme abortion bans. Although the Texas Supreme Court denied their claims, these women continue to advocate for justice—and their stories are featured in the powerful documentary Zurawski v Texas, which reveals the gut-wrenching realities of abortion bans.
* Affirming the right to maternal health care in Kenya.
The Court of Appeal of Kenya affirmed the right to respectful maternal health care in the case of Josephine Majani—a pregnant woman who was physically and verbally abused by hospital staff. This landmark victory is a triumph for maternal health care rights in Kenya and across the continent.
* Court wins in Kansas, Michigan, Hawai'i and more.
Thanks to your support, we acted swiftly to combat abortion restrictions and secured monumental victories in 2024: Michigan state courts blocked three abortion restrictions, Kansas courts reaffirmed the constitutional right to abortion, and in Hawai'i, courts ruled native Hawaiian midwives can resume pregnancy and birth care.
* Protecting and defending medication abortion.
While the U.S. Supreme Court upheld access to abortion medication, Louisiana's harmful restrictions now classify these FDA-approved drugs as controlled substances, which will result in critical delays in emergency care. The Center is prepared to challenge harmful attacks on this essential and safe medicine.

These are just a few examples of the important work you make possible—and there is so much work to be done in the year to come as we prepare to fight the devastating Project 2025 agenda.
