Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, is not qualified for the role. McMahon, a former WWE executive and Trump loyalist, has very little experience in education policy or public school systems. She is however, a major donor to Donald Trump’s campaigns.
Leading education unions and advocacy groups have voiced strong opposition to McMahon's nomination. Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association, the nation’s largest teachers union, called McMahon an “unqualified” nominee and likened her to “Betsy DeVos 2.0.”
