As the holiday season draws near, it's a time for reflection, gratitude, and connection. With Christmas just around the corner, I want to take a moment to wish all the people of Iowa a very Merry Christmas. For many of us, this season holds special significance as a time to slow down, pause from our busy routines, and take stock of the blessings in our lives. It’s an opportunity to show appreciation for the loved ones who make our lives richer and to give thanks for all we’ve been given. Christmas has always been a particularly meaningful time for me, as it provides the rare gift of quality time with family. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to let those moments pass by. But at Christmas, we have the chance to stop and truly connect with the people who matter most. Whether gathered around the dinner table, enjoying a warm drink together, or simply sitting and talking, these moments are what make the holiday season truly special. At the heart of Christmas, of course, is the birth of Jesus Christ. As we celebrate this holy season, we are reminded of the greatest gift ever given—the gift of salvation. Jesus’ life and teachings inspire us to live with love, compassion, and selflessness. His message of peace, hope, and goodwill continues to guide us, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year. Iowa is a place where community and family are at the heart of everything we do. The strength of our communities lies in the simple yet powerful acts of kindness, generosity, and togetherness. As we celebrate this season, I encourage everyone to cherish these connections, not just with family, but with neighbors, friends, and those in need. It’s the small gestures that can make the biggest difference. To my fellow Iowans, may your homes be filled with love, joy, and peace this Christmas. I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you. Let us continue to spread kindness and good cheer as we move into the New Year. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! Committee Hearings I spoke in a key Veterans' Affairs Oversight Committee Hearing. I questioned VA Officials on Veterans' Access to Timely Care. Floor Speeches I honored the late Congressman from Iowa Jim Leach on the House Floor. I spoke in support of President Trump's call for PBM reform. I congratulated the Pleasant Valley Girls Volleyball team on their State Championship Victory! Sincerely, Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks ### Rep.
