My name is Tracey and I'm writing to you from Plakortis Earth Cafe in Jamaica.
As a Type 1 diabetic, the climate crisis is very personal for me. Major climate disasters not only threaten my community, but the loss of electricity means that my insulin — and my life — are at risk.
I've been working with my community over the past few years to build resilience to hurricanes and other climate disasters by equipping churches and schools with the tools to adopt solar power and renewable energy solutions.
In 2025 I'm hoping to take my activism to the next level — which is why I'm thrilled to share that I've been selected for the Renew Our Power gathering that 350 is organizing next year.
But the cost of travel, meals, and accommodations for applicants like me are extremely high, which is why I am asking:
As I prepare for this gathering, I feel both excited about all the training I will receive — but I also feel inspired by the way that 350 is holding this event.
