You might not know this, John, but while I’m running a full-fledged campaign for Governor, I’m also taking care of my 101-year-old mother.

This requires attention to details at all times – about medications, feeding tube nutrition, incontinence, mobility, personal care, emotional well-being, and more -- which can cause challenges for both of us, as I shift from daughter to “nurse.”

I know I’m not alone in this. None of us is a stranger to taking on roles for which we were never trained to ensure no family member falls through the cracks — because we weren’t blessed with generational wealth.

I also know I’m not the only person in California pulling this type of double duty – and that’s one big reason why I’m running for Governor. It’s these folks who need help and an advocate to stand with them.

I know what working-class and first-generation families need because I’m part of one.

That’s why I'm running, and it’s why I need your support.

This is a campaign powered by the caregivers, the people wearing multiple hats, the working families. Can I count on you to chip in today ahead of our critical end-of-year deadline? In a race that’s going to be as competitive as this one, every single dollar matters.
