Our movement is rooted in the belief that democracy should be of the people, by the people, and for the people — and as a member of this grassroots team, you’ve been doing the hard work of democracy each and every day.

Together this year, we…

• Elected 116 Democracy Defenders — victories that will help create and protect fair electoral maps for future elections.
• Broke a Republican supermajority in the Wisconsin Senate and flipped seats in the Assembly, creating a path to win majorities in 2026.
• Protected a key state supreme court seat in North Carolina, re-electing Justice Allison Riggs by just over 700 votes.
• Defeated ideological extremists to win seats on the Michigan Supreme Court, which will help protect a fair electoral system in this critical battleground state.
• Flipped key seats blue by electing candidates like Floyd Griffin, who was elected to Georgia’s state house, and Patty Kim, who won a state senate seat in Pennsylvania.

The work goes on in 2025, with critical elections in states like Virginia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania — starting on January 7 (!) with special elections that will decide control of the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates.

No matter what challenges are thrown our way in the year to come, I know that we’ll keep pushing, keep organizing, and keep proving that democracy isn't just a buzzword — it's a living, breathing force driven by people like you.
