Patriot, this is Kimberly Bretches, wife of Officer Chance Bretches.
I never imagined I’d be writing a letter like this, asking strangers for help. But I’m reaching out with a mother’s plea for justice — for my husband, for our family, and for our three children.
That’s a picture of all of us right there.
You see, Chance has dedicated his life to protecting our community. As a police officer, he’s faced dangerous situations most people couldn’t fathom — always with courage, integrity, and a deep sense of duty.
But now, instead of being recognized for his service, he’s facing an unthinkable reality: a 99-year prison sentence.
During a violent BLM riot, Chance was called to restore order and protect innocent lives. He used only non-lethal measures approved by his department — never resorting to deadly force. He did everything by the book.
But in today’s politically charged climate, facts don’t seem to matter. Radical prosecutors determined to make an example of him have twisted the narrative, portraying my husband — a hero — as a criminal.
His trial is early next year. We are terrified.
If the worst happens, our children will lose their father — and I will lose my best friend. The stakes couldn’t be higher.
We are doing everything we can to fight back, but legal battles like this are devastatingly expensive. We can’t do this alone.
That’s why I’m asking — begging — for your help.
Your support could mean the difference between our children growing up with their father or without him. It could mean saving Chance’s life from being destroyed by a broken system.
Will you please consider contributing $50, $75, or $100 to help fund Chance’s legal defense?
With all my heart,
Kimberly Bretches
P.S. Every second counts. Chance’s trial is just around the corner, and we’re running out of time. Please don’t wait — your support today could be the lifeline that saves my husband and keeps our family together.
