But, President Trump and his GOP allies have vowed to fight expanding the right to vote at every turn. Just today, the President called the state of Nevada and Michigan's moves to extend absentee ballots "illegal" and even said he would hold up crucial funding to the state if they continued to go down the "Voter Fraud" path.
And our own Trump sycophant, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, has already vowed to challenge the federal judge's ruling. That is right--even though this pandemic has killed nearly 100,000 of our fellow Americans--Paxton believes that the only way to vote in November is in person, a move that will surely fuel the spread of this dangerous virus.
All of this is because Paxton puts politics over the lives of American people and spreads false truths instead of admitting that all Texans can and should use mail in ballots to safely vote in November.
I won't stand for this. As a founding member of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus, my colleagues and I will continue to fight against these Right Wing attacks on the right for Texans to safely vote in November.
