Hi there, it’s VA State Senator Ghazala Hashmi, Democratic candidate for Virginia Lt. Governor in 2025.
The very structures of our democracy, from voting rights to government institutions, are under attack by right-wing extremists.
And with Republicans set to take over the federal government in just a few weeks, it will be up to the states to uphold the most important tenets of our democracy.
Free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy, and ensuring access to the ballot box is critical. As Lt. Governor, I will protect and expand early voting, mail-in ballots, and no-excuse absentee voting.
