I believe that everyone deserves a safe place to live, for a price they can afford.

Yes, it really is that simple, John.

That’s why I am thrilled to be the first freshman member of Congress to join the newly formed, bipartisan YIMBY caucus, headed by my colleague Robert Garcia of Long Beach, to tackle these issues.

Housing affordability and homelessness is one of our most urgent crises. In the assembly, I:

  • Worked to increase our affordable housing stock
  • Cut red tape that has prevented the development of housing
  • Increased tenant protections
  • and fought hard to make sure those living on our streets have access to the care and services they need.

Now, it’s time to take that work national.

I’m glad to be working with like-minded, driven folks in Congress who are equally determined to tackle this issue, together. And I know that we can and will break through the crisis of housing affordability that is plaguing too many of our communities.
