Leader Feature: Gail TookerEver wonder who is behind the 250+ incredible trips Sierra Club Outings leads each year? We are excited to introduce you to the incredible people who are the backbone of our program. This month, please meet long-time leader, Gail Tooker!
Gail began her journey as a National Outings leader in 2007 after attending two service trips in ‘03 and ‘04. Over the years she has led over 60 trips and attended even more as a participant. Her most memorable trip was an Antarctica expedition she attended as a participant in 2011 - kayaking in the frigid waters, and even spending a night on the continent, sleeping under the stars in a cozy specialty sleeping bag.
Gail is especially passionate about Sierra Club service trips, as well as our program’s focus on conservation. She appreciates that the Sierra Club considers the environmental challenges of each destination, and includes on-trip discussions detailing how the local Sierra Club chapter is addressing said challenges.
Thank you, Gail, for your many years serving our program.
