Before the year comes to a close, I wanted to continue to highlight the Alliance’s state-based work, next in Michigan. The Alliance for Gun Responsibility is proud to be part of the growing movement to protect Michigan’s communities from the devastating impact of gun violence. This year, we made historic strides in protecting families and communities from gun violence in Michigan. Together with our dedicated partners, End Gun Violence Michigan, we’ve made incredible progress in advocating for laws that save lives. Here are just a few of the victories we’ve seen in Michigan this year:

Passage of critical domestic violence protection laws: These new laws help protect survivors by ensuring that firearms are kept out of the hands of abusers and preventing tragic deaths.
Educating thousands of volunteers: We worked with hundreds of dedicated leaders across Michigan to accelerate the implementation of protection orders and safe storage laws, ensuring that families and children are protected from the risks of unsecured firearms.
Mobilizing volunteers to advocate for change: Our partners at End Gun Violence Michigan turned out thousands of volunteers to push for stronger laws and funding to combat gun violence.
