Medicare Affordability Gets a Win in Government Funding Bill
It came down to the wire, but the continuing resolution passed by Congress includes an important victory for older adults: an extension for the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA). This is a big deal! It means outreach to help low-income Medicare beneficiaries afford their health care costs can continue until the next funding deadline in March.
In just over 24 hours, thousands of people in our network took time to contact their members of Congress. The result was help for millions of older adults struggling with Medicare costs. Thank you to everyone who took action!
Bipartisanship got the bill across the finish line, reflecting the broad public support for MIPPA. We look forward to seeing that same spirit of cooperation to secure investment in the Older Americans Act next year.
We're excited to keep up this momentum! Stay tuned for other opportunities to support our advocacy campaigns.
Sincerely,
The NCOA Team
