Did you read in the news how several leading colleges and universities reacted to last month’s election?

Some of these so-called elite institutions canceled classes and gave students coloring books, hot cocoa, and counseling so they could cope with the election results.

Could there be better proof that too many of America’s schools fail to prepare their students to be responsible citizens of the world’s greatest and longest-lasting constitutional republic?

Yet, we should not really be surprised by this. After all, the forces of the anti-American Left have been focused on seizing control of our educational institutions since the late 1960s.

Too many young Americans are taught that our nation’s founding principles were developed to promote white supremacy, that natural rights and private property are codewords for fascism, and that justice requires the destruction of capitalism.

To normal, hard-working Americans, this sounds insane. That’s because it is insane.

Our American way of life is under relentless attack on campuses across the country. This problem won’t be fixed quickly or easily—although I believe we have the opportunity to score significant victories in the coming year.

I am hopeful for our future, and one of the main reasons I am hopeful is the sense of civic responsibility and generosity of people like YOU.
