Tomorrow is Katy Personette, our beloved Director of Development and Policy’s birthday, and we need your help with an exciting surprise.
First, some background:
Katy joined our team in January 2022 after coming from an issue advocacy organization where they pushed for progressive policies like raising the minimum wage and fair education funding in the halls of Harrisburg. She made the jump after realizing that in order to see these policies through, we must first expand the electorate in PA to reflect all people of Pennsylvania.
Since joining our team, Katy has worked hard raising the necessary funds to ensure the impactful work of year-round voter registration and civic education continue in our centered communities across the Commonwealth. Over the three years, the organization has grown from a staff of five to a staff of 65+ full and part time community leaders and expanded efforts to a total of 20 counties across PA. Since 2021, the New PA Project Education Fund along with the affiliated, New Pennsylvania Project have assisted more than 48,000 Pennsylvanians in registering to vote and mobilized many of those first time voters to the polls.
Now, we want to make Katy’s birthday extra special. How? By hitting our end-of-year fundraising goal early so she can take the well deserved time off and come back in 2025 refreshed to join us all in the good fight!
