Dear John,
I was delighted with your strong vote of confidence yesterday and I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of my supporters and volunteers.
When the COVID-19 pandemic began, we immediately stopped campaigning and used our campaign infrastructure to focus on connecting people with resources to help them navigate through the challenges of this crisis. In mid-March, we released a comprehensive COVID-19 Resource Guide that has almost 400 listings in 14 different categories. This guide has been accessed by many and shared widely. Our dedicated volunteers and campaign staff have also been busy reaching out to community members to do wellness checks and have made over 1,000 calls and sent over 21,500 texts.
It is gratifying to see the hard work we've done pay off.
I am very proud of the campaign we ran! We received 6,895 contributions under $50 from 2,677 donors, with the average contribution being $13.42. Particularly gratifying were the small donations given every month and others that came in with a note of encouragement. That meant a lot to me during these difficult times.
Looking forward, I will continue taking on our biggest challenges and fighting for bold, progressive change. I will keep leading the charge to support working families and our most vulnerable through this crisis. I will continue fighting for bold change to fix broken systems and to root out bigotry and injustice.
The real change that was important before the pandemic is even more critical now. I am eager to accept the challenge of our lifetime and I thank you for the opportunity to do so.
Onward,
Earl
