County Chair Letter Update

Last week, we announced our letter to Republican State Representatives, signed on to by other county chairs, calling for House Republicans to support caucus nominee David Cook for Speaker of the Texas House. You can read it HERE.

By last Saturday, the letter had just gone out and had a few dozen signers. Today, the number is at 128 and climbing! Considering that there are a few County Chair vacancies, over half of the currently serving County Chairs have signed on to the letter, and we expect many more to do so.

Texas is a big state, which can make it difficult to get ahold of some Chairmen. If you know a County Chairman who has not yet signed on to the letter, please ask them to do so! They can reach out to Chairman Bo French to be added at [email protected].

This letter will help unite the Republican Party and send the message to our Republican Representatives that we expect them to support the Republican caucus and not to side up with Democrats. The Speaker election will be here before we know it.

The Republican Caucus is Bad?

As members of the Burrows/Phelan team continue to double down on teaming up with Democrats, the drama continues.

At first, Burrows argued that "the race was over" because he had the votes. In reality, he had listed members without their consent who in fact supported David Cook, so that argument fell apart. Well - they've found their next argument, and it's shocking.

Their case: the Republican Caucus is bad.

One of the more prominent Burrows/Phelan Lieutenants, Rep. Terry Wilson (not to be confused with Cook supporter Rep. Terri Leo-Wilson) wrote an incredibly brief article for a local newspaper arguing that trust in the caucus had eroded. It's actually titled - if you can believe it - "The Broken Republican Caucus." It's worth noting that, despite the Burrows/Phelan team walkout, Cook still won the nomination with a quorum present and a majority of the Republican members.

Others like Cody Harris and Dustin Burrows himself have publicly defended this argument. If, as they are suggesting, the problem these members have is with the Republican caucus itself, then there should be no issue with denying them ballot access in the Republican primary. After all, they are publicly claiming opposition to the Republican caucus to work with Democrats.

If they don't believe in the Republican caucus, they have no right to be in a Republican primary. We're looking forward to 2026.

Trump's "First Buddy" In Action

Elon Musk's backing of Trump may be the most important asset for President Trump's success in his upcoming term. Musk has been very public that any DC Republican fighting Trump's agenda will receive a primary challenger - a serious threat coming from the richest man in the world.

But just as impactful for accomplishing Trump's agenda has been Elon's control over X. By opening up the platform and creating the X AI tool, Elon has in the last few days accomplished something that the grassroots have wanted forever, but never received.

As always happens in DC, a Continuing Resolution was proposed in the House to continue funding the government temporarily. Per standard fare, the bill was over 1,500 pages, filled with leftist programs, nonsense, and unnecessary and out-of-control spending; representatives were given mere hours to skim through it, expected to pass it without first reading the document.

This is where Elon Musk stepped in to save the day. He sent out the signal that the Resolution must go down, seen by hundreds of millions of people. Using X's AI, grassroots activists were quickly able to find the worst offenders within the bill and report it to Congressmen on the platform - to which they were incredibly and immediately receptive.

This is a big win for America, and none of it would have been possible without Elon Musk - not only his fame and wealth but his technological innovation as well. We're lucky to have him on our side, and to have him living right here in Texas.

Texas' Newest City

Thanks to Elon Musk and Texas' business-friendly environment, Texas will soon be getting its newest city, down in Cameron County.

SpaceX has operated in the border county for many years, at the unofficial "Starbase, TX." With the company's incredible success and growing workforce, an entire community has developed around the launch site, complete with homes, a school, and more. After many years of operation, Elon is seeking for Starbase, TX to become Texas' Next City officially, and has called for an election to incorporate the community.

Since 2015, SpaceX has had a private school for the children of SpaceX employees called "Ad Astra," which has a Montessori focus and emphasizes engineering and technological education. Elon recently announced that the school will now be expanded to the larger community, with SpaceX employees receiving subsidized tuition for now.

There have been questions as to whether or not the template for Ad Astra could be replicated across the state. Either way, Texas is lucky to have the most innovative man in the world building and bringing these ideas to our state. With many innovators and large businesses moving to Texas, the obvious question is: what will be Texas' next newest city? Time will tell.
