The integrity of the press is essential for our democracy. Without it, journalists live in fear of reporting the truth and anyone who speaks out against those in power can face persecution.
But Donald Trump has been very clear: If you oppose him, he's coming for you .
By striking down this bill, Senate Republicans have shown that they will do anything Donald Trump says without fear of the consequences it may have for our nation.
This bill would have protected our free press, journalists, anonymous sourcs, whistleblowers, and those who speak out in the face of injustice. And now, they are vulnerable and exposed to attacks!
