In May 2020, chaos engulfed Austin. Rioters blocked highways, burned cars, and even attacked police officers with rocks and fireworks.
Officer Teng was dispatched to clear Interstate 35 after lawless mobs SHUT IT DOWN — trapping even emergency vehicles.
Amid the violence, a rioter hurled a massive rock at Officer Teng’s partner, striking him in the chest.
Teng followed his training and used non-lethal rounds to stop the attackers and restore order. He did everything RIGHT.
But instead of prosecuting the violent rioters... DA José Garza filed FELONY charges against Officer Teng and over 20 other Austin police officers.
Garza’s message is clear: PROTECTING the public is a CRIME in his twisted world.
