Dear Friend,
As we close out the year, I want to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. This will be my last newsletter of the year, and I am so grateful for your support of the Tiffany Telegram.
I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the hard work of my staff. Throughout the 118th Congress, Team Tiffany has been dedicated to serving you. Together, we’ve achieved record-breaking results, including returning over $13 million to constituents since 2023 and helping more than 1,300 individuals resolve issues with federal agencies.
If you need assistance with a federal agency – whether it’s a passport, a tax refund, or help with the VA – please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. We are here to help you!
Additionally, I held 26 telephone town halls and in-person listening sessions this Congress. Please stay tuned for the announcement of more listening sessions, as I plan to hold them in numerous counties in the new year.
On the legislative front, I introduced or cosponsored 8 bills that were signed into law. This includes legislation to support victims of sexual violence, protect hunting and archery programs, and honor a local Necedah veteran.
As we look ahead to the new Congress and President Trump’s first 100 days back in office, the need for change from the last four years could not be clearer. America cannot afford to wait.
I am confident that with President Trump back in the White House, we can secure the border, unleash American energy independence, and get wolf delisting done and return management back to states.
Another challenge we must address is the reckless spending that has driven inflation and hurt hardworking Americans. Balancing the budget is not optional; it’s essential. With the help of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), I am ready to deliver on this promise for the American people.
Lastly, as we gather with loved ones this holiday season, I ask you to join me in prayer for the victims of the recent tragedy at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. I want to thank our first responders for their quick response, and Chris and I will be keeping all those affected in our prayers. Please click here for ways to offer support.
I hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram. We will be back with more in 2025!
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany Member of Congress

Enough government spending – we need cuts
This week, the Swamp tried to push another Christmas spending spree on the American people. As many of my Telegram readers know, this is no surprise. It’s the same old Swamp tactic: Wait until the last minute to fund the government, then ram through a 1,500+ page omnibus filled with wasteful spending. Thankfully, we killed this bill. It was nothing more than a lump of coal for the American people, packed with more Democratic priorities than Republican ones, including a congressional pay raise and more spending under the guise of "pandemic response funding.” This annual Scrooge cycle of 1,000-page omnibuses must end. Following this, we had another vote on a slimmed-down Continuing Resolution (CR) that included disaster relief, payments for farmers, and a debt ceiling hike. I’ve been consistent: I cannot support raising the debt limit without meaningful spending cuts. While this CR package was a better alternative than the first one, the debt ceiling increase is estimated to add $4-5 trillion to our national debt. This is how we’ve reached $36 trillion in debt – by cramming unrelated priorities into massive, rushed bills. It’s unacceptable. As I have stated from the beginning, a clean CR is the best path forward. Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to vote on one. Instead, the House passed a package cramming numerous issues into a single bill without offsets. Each component of this bill deserved its own vote, so you could clearly see how your money is being spent. I am hopeful that with President Trump and DOGE, we can change this reckless approach to spending. The American people deserve better, and I’m committed to fighting for fiscal responsibility.
Biden border fence fire sale?
You probably saw news reports in recent days about the outgoing Biden administration auctioning off border fence materials at rock-bottom prices – with bids starting as low as $5 per section. It’s a final national security “sellout” by the outgoing president, whose entire term in office has been characterized by runaway chaos at our border and an unprecedented flood of illegal aliens from every corner of the globe into American neighborhoods. President-elect Trump sounded off on the cynical scheme this week, referring to it as “almost a criminal act.” That’s why this week I joined several of my colleagues in calling out President Biden for this massive waste of resources – and demanding answers. You can read our letter here.
Human trafficking skyrockets under Biden
For the last four years, the Biden administration has deliberately erased our southern border, enriched cartels, unleashed a tidal wave of illegal aliens and deadly drugs into our communities, and disrespected the millions of legal immigrants who followed our laws and came here the right way. But perhaps one thing that doesn’t get as much attention is the staggering rise in human trafficking that has taken place as a result of Joe Biden's dangerous open borders policies. Under this administration, cartels have reportedly profited between $4 billion and $12 billion by smuggling migrants from the Darien Gap to our southern border. Along the way, many endure horrific abuse, including sexual assault. Reports of child sex trafficking have tripled under Biden and Harris, with the administration losing track of over 320,000 migrant children, many of whom are vulnerable to this grim industry. This is the largest human trafficking operation in U.S. history since slavery, and there is nothing humanitarian about it. This week I joined my colleagues in making it clear that our first priority in the new year must be to secure our border. You can learn more about our efforts here. If you suspect someone is being trafficked, please report it to the federal law enforcement hotline here. Together, we can help stop this humanitarian crisis and put an end to this dark stain on American history.
I had a great conversation with President Trump's Border Czar, Tom Homan, at the Border Security Caucus meeting this week, discussing mass deportations and securing the border.
Committee Update
Judiciary
FBI caught lying… again
Once again, the FBI has been caught misleading the American people – this time over crime data. Last year, the FBI released the annual crime in the nation data for 2022, which showed a 2.1% decrease in violent crime. This statistic was eagerly used by the legacy liberal media and the Biden administration to dismiss concerns about rising crime and to argue that they had everything under control. ABC News even weaponized this data against President Trump during the election, accusing him of lying when he said violent crime was up. But as it turns out, President Trump was right. Less than a month before the election, the FBI quietly revised its 2022 data to now show a 4.5% increase in violent crime. Why do these “revisions” always seem designed to downplay the failures of the Biden-Harris administration? Even this week in the House Judiciary Committee, I confronted a Biden FBI official about their inaccurate crime data. Instead of owning up to the mistake, he doubled down, insisting he “stands behind the [original] report.” This is the kind of corruption Kash Patel, President Trump’s FBI Director nominee, will be up against – a Swamp more interested in protecting the status quo than telling the truth. Americans deserve to know the truth. You can watch my exchange with the Biden FBI official here.
Recent Legislation
Biden withdraws rule under pressure
This week, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it would withdraw its proposed Biological Integrity, Diversity, and Environmental Health (BIDEH) rule. This rule would make drastic changes to how the National Wildlife Refuge System operates and limit the tools its land managers can use. The Biden administration has a long history of putting their far-left agenda ahead of the livelihoods of our nation’s hunters and anglers, and the proposed BIDEH rule is just another example of that. This is why I not only helped introduce the BIOSAFE Act with Rep. Glenn Grothman (WI-06), which would roll it back. I also signed on to a bipartisan letter in June to the Director of Fish and Wildlife asking to rescind the rule. I am very pleased to see that the pressure from Congress helped lead to the withdrawal of this rule, which is a win for outdoorsmen, farmers, and local communities.
