Looking forward to seeing you in Georgia's 11th Congressional District or in Washington, D.C. | Rep. Barry Loudermilk U.S. Congressman, Georgia's Eleventh District | Friends, The Christmas season is a time to gather with friends and family to enjoy one another's company and reflect on the many blessings God has given us. As we gather together, I hope you'll join me, my wife Desiree, and our family in thanking the incredible people who are the cornerstone of our communities – our brave service members, law enforcement, and first responders, who sacrifice so much time with their families to ensure the well being of ours. I also thank our small businesses, the engines of our local economy, for their hard work and dedication to our communities. I pray you and your family have a joyful, healthy, and safe holiday season, and that the upcoming year is full of blessings for you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! | Our Votes This Week - Critical Legislation to Ensure Congress Exercises Appropriate Oversight and Keep the U.S. Government Open | This week, I supported critical legislation to ensure Congress can exercise appropriate oversight and keep the U.S. Government open and operational. Top bills are as follows: - H.R. 115 – Midnight Rules Relief Act – Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ-5)
- This legislation ensures that Congress can exercise appropriate oversight of executive rule-making by allowing multiple agency rules to be considered en bloc if the rules were issued in the final year of a presidential term. This change would allow Congress to properly oversee the federal bureaucracy at the time when it is most active finalizing regulations at the tail end of a presidential term.
- H.R. 10545 – American Relief Act – Rep. Tom Cole (OK-4)
- This legislation extends government funding through March 14, 2025 and provides critical assistance to help American farmers and communities affected by recent natural disasters.
- Funds the government at current discretionary spending levels through March 14, 2025.
- Provides $100 billion in supplemental emergency spending to aid states affected by natural disasters.
- Provides $10 billion in economic assistance to farmers dealing with crop loss, government overregulation, and market forces outside of their control.
- Provides $5.7 billion to support the submarine industrial base, necessary to meet U.S. production goals.
- Extends current farm bill programs through September 30, 2025.
- Extends the National Flood Insurance Program through March 14, 2025.
| Exposing the former J6 Select Committee for Misleading Congress and the American People | The Democrats' former January 6 Select Committee conducted their 'investigation' outside the bounds of legitimacy, suppressed evidence, and deleted key information. That's why as Chairman of the Committee on House Administration's Oversight Subcommittee, our team released an second interim report this week on our findings on the events of January 6 as well as our investigation into the politicization of the former Select Committee. Chiefly, among other critical findings, this report outlines criminal recommendations against former Representative Liz Cheney, the former Vice-Chair of the Select Committee. You can read more about our top findings here, and the full report in its entirety here. | Rep. Loudermilk on the Alan Sanders Show: Second Interim Report is a Critical Point in Investigation | In case you missed it, this week, I sat down with the Alan Sanders Show to discuss the top 10 key takeaways from our newly released second Interim January 6 Report and next steps in our investigation as we move forward. Specifically, we discussed comments from former Jan. 6 Select Committee Chair Bennie Thompson (D-MS), how former Rep. Liz Cheney should be thoroughly investigated for her conduct, and how the incoming Trump Administration could help remove critical roadblocks. | Rep. Loudermilk on Just the News, No Noise: Did Liz Cheney Tamper with Jan 6 Committee 'star witness' Cassidy Hutchinson? | ICYMI: This week, I also sat down with John Solomon and Amanda Head for their show Just the News: No Noise to discuss our newly released second Interim January 6 Report. Specifically, I questioned whether former Rep. Liz Cheney, the former Vice Chair of the Select Committee, convicted "star witness" Cassidy Hutchinson to alter her testimony, and why Cheney's conduct must be thoroughly investigated. | Rep. Loudermilk on Glenn Beck: Liz Cheney and Former Jan. 6 Select Committee is not Above Accountability | ICYMI: This week, I joined Glenn Beck on his radio program and reviewed some of the highlights of our newly released Second Interim January 6 Report.
