Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

Yesterday, we announced that for the first time in five years, DC’s population has surpassed 700,000 — a testament to our city’s comeback and the fact that we are great place to live, work, and build a future. I say frequently that people come to and stay in DC to change the world, and it is true that what makes our city so special are the ideas, the energy, and most of all, the people. All 702,000 of us.

Over the coming weeks, as we gather with loved ones and celebrate the spirit of the holidays, let’s take pride in what makes DC such an extraordinary place to call home.

Thank you for all you do to make this city the welcoming and thriving community it is today.

As we head into next week, I wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Sincerely,

Muriel Bowsermmb
