Students standing in front of vacant donut shop
Students aid in design of new coffee shop
We’re teaming up with HEB ISD and 6 Stones to transform the old donut shop at 420 W. Pipeline Rd into a one-of-a-kind coffee shop—serving great coffee and a greater purpose!
This local spot will employ students and young adults from HEB ISD’s Moving into Adult Roles and Communities (MARC) program, helping them gain life skills while connecting with the community. Plus, HEB ISD’s Architectural and Interior Design students are designing the space!
This is more than a renovation—it’s a meaningful project built for and by the Hurst community. Stay tuned as we bring it to life!

library grant
Thinking Money for Kids at Hurst Public Library
The Hurst Public Library is one of 300 libraries selected through a national application process to receive a Thinking Money for Kids Program Kit from the American Library Association (ALA) and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. These Program Kits are a collection of expertly vetted resources to help libraries teach financial education concepts to children ages 3 to 12.
Through a new Hurst Public Library offering, young people will have the opportunity to learn about financial topics—like earning, saving, spending, sharing, and budgeting—in a way that is both meaningful and fun. Starting Tuesday, January 14, visit the Library for in-person kids’ programs or take home a tablet loaded with fun games offered through the Thinking Money for Kids program.

Cease the Grease
Cease your grease during the upcoming holidays
This holiday season, we're making it easier than ever to Cease the Grease! The City of Hurst encourages residents to collect and recycle or safely dispose of all used fats, oils and grease. When these items are washed down the drain, it sticks inside pipes. This hardening eventually leads to build up that clogs and damages the sanitary sewer system. This can lead to a Sanitary Sewer Overflow, where raw sewage backs up into your home, lawn, neighborhood, and streets. Not only does this cause damage to our sewer system, it can also runoff into a nearby creek or stream, affecting our drinking water. In an effort to help our residents and our city, during the holiday season, you can recycle your grease for FREE at our drop-off location at the north end of the Service Center (2001 Precinct Line Road) parking lot at the corner of Cannon Drive and Precinct Line Road through *January 6, 2025.* For more information, click the button below.
