The IDF continues to operate in Gaza, Lebanon, the West Bank, and Syria to destroy terrorist infrastructure and eliminate threats.
In a counter-terrorism operation in the West Bank yesterday, IDF troops targeted and killed a senior terrorist commander who led a terror network responsible for executing attacks against Israelis. The terrorists under his command were funded and armed by Iran.
Today in northern Gaza, the IDF announced that it destroyed nearly five miles of Hamas terror tunnels. In one of the tunnels, troops found IDF equipment that was stolen by Hamas terrorists on October 7, along with maps of the Israeli border communities and weapons.
See footage from inside the tunnels below:
America must continue to stand with Israel and ensure our ally has the resources it needs to protect its families and defeat Iran-backed terrorists.
Major defense bill passed by Congress this week authorizes over $627 million for Israel's security
This week, the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), sending this important bill with many of AIPAC's top legislative priorities to the president's desk to be signed into law.
The bill authorizes over $627 million for critical U.S.-Israel cooperative programs, including $500 million for Iron Dome, David's Sling, and Arrow.
This is at the heart of the work we do to make sure Israel has the resources it needs to protect its families and defeat its enemies. With this key legislative step accomplished, we must work to ensure Congress appropriates the funding for these programs in the new year.
We appreciate the leadership of Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Jack Reed (D-RI), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Representatives Mike Johnson (R-LA), Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Steve Scalise (R-LA), Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Adam Smith (D-WA).
I encourage you to watch and share the short video below to learn more about the AIPAC-backed policies authorized in this important legislation.
🎥 AIPAC Conversation with Former Hostage Aviva Siegel
On October 7, Hamas brutally ripped Aviva and Keith Siegel from their home and kidnapped them to Gaza.
After fighting to survive for 51 days, Aviva was freed in a hostage deal.
Now, she's fighting to free her husband of 43 years and the other 100 hostages still held captive by barbaric Hamas terrorists. Keith is one of seven Americans still in Hamas captivity.
We were honored to host Aviva at AIPAC this week, where she shared her story of remarkable courage and resilience. Watch and share the conversation here:
U.S. kills ISIS leader in precision strike in Syria
ISIS leader Abu Yusif was eliminated in a precision strike by U.S. Central Command forces yesterday in Syria.
“The United States — working with allies and partners in the region — will not allow ISIS to take advantage of the current situation in Syria and reconstitute," CENTCOM Commander General Michael Kurilla said.
"ISIS has the intent to break out of detention the over 8,000 ISIS operatives currently being held in facilities in Syria. We will aggressively target these leaders and operatives, including those trying to conduct operations external to Syria," he added.
The IDF remains on high alert on the Israel-Syria border and is operating to prevent terrorist groups from acquiring advanced weapons previously possessed by the Syrian army.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
