Hi John,
As I continue to highlight our state-based work, I wanted to next look at what we are doing in Oregon to protect our communities from the devastating impacts of gun violence. Across the country, we see the tragic consequences of easy access to firearms in the wrong hands. But together, we can make a difference—and we need your help to ensure that progress continues.
At the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, we are working alongside the Alliance for a Safe Oregon, to focus on defending and expanding life-saving gun safety laws in Oregon. This year, we have worked tirelessly to protect Measure 114 , a historic law passed by Oregon voters in 2022 that requires permits for gun purchases and mandates background checks for all gun buyers. This common sense measure is essential to keeping guns out of the wrong hands, but it’s facing legal challenges that threaten its implementation.
Your support is critical to defending this law and ensuring it remains in effect. Can you support our efforts with a donation of $25.00 [[link removed]] ?
But we’re not stopping there. This past year, we worked with our partners to run the first political program, working to elect pro-safety candidates . The decisions made by state lawmakers directly impact the safety of our communities, and we need to elect leaders who are committed to strengthening gun safety laws. Our partners saw great success in their political program, electing dozens of endorsed candidates to the offices for which they were running.
We must continue our life saving work in Oregon. Every vote counts, and your continued support will help ensure that champions for gun violence prevention continue to be elected to office. Can you support our future work with a contribution of $50.00? [[link removed]]
Not only are we working to defend existing laws and elect gun safety champions to office, we are also pushing for even stronger gun safety measures. Laws like Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) , which would allow law enforcement to temporarily remove firearms from individuals at risk of harming themselves or others, are proven to save lives, and we’re committed to making sure that life saving measures become a reality in Oregon.
We can’t do any of this without you.
Your end-of-year donation will help us :
* Defend Measure 114 and ensure it remains in effect.
* Elect leaders who will fight for gun violence prevention.
* Push for stronger laws like ERPOs to protect lives.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Together, we can make Oregon and the rest of our country, a safer place – a place where our children, families, and communities don’t have to live in fear of gun violence.
Thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we will make Oregon a safer place for all.
