World’s Richest Man Drives U.S. Toward a Shutdown to Pave the Way for Tax Breaks for Billionaires
Donald Trump and the world’s richest man Elon Musk ordered Republicans to back out of a bipartisan agreement and shut down the government – inflicting real pain on hardworking Americans across the country.

Last night, Republicans pushed for a new bill that is designed to set up another Trump tax scam and place the burden on American families — Democrats will not stand by as they do the bidding of their billionaire benefactors at the expense of the American people.

Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and House Republicans are telling us exactly who they are and who they’ll fight for.

MAGA Republicans are threatening to raise the cost of essentials like prescription drugs, withhold paychecks from millions of Americans, gut funding for childhood cancer research, and cut programs that families rely on like Social Security and Head Start – all to clear the way for Trump to offshore American jobs and cut taxes for billionaires as soon as he gets into office.

While Democrats are focused on keeping the government open and lowering costs, Republicans are leaving working families in the cold while paving the way for huge tax breaks for billionaires.

A government shutdown will negatively affect us and our country. It is detrimental because it disrupts the economy, causes financial hardship for workers, interrupts vital services, and erodes public confidence in government institutions. The deadline to pass a funding bill is September 30, 2023.

Please help keep our government running. Let your representatives know you don’t support a government shutdown.
