The possibility of a government shutdown is looming—and it threatens to disrupt the lives of hardworking federal employees, veterans, and active-duty service members during the holidays.

The prospect of a lengthy government shutdown is nothing short of a Christmas gift to America’s adversaries and a lump of coal in the stockings of the American people.

We need Congress to act now.

The consequences of a shutdown are real. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees may be forced to work through the holidays without a paycheck. Essential government services—from food inspections to disaster relief to border protection—would be disrupted. And over 642,000 federal workers who are veterans of our armed forces would face unnecessary hardship.

Let’s stand together to protect our livelihoods, our families, and the vital services we provide to the American people. Congress needs to hear from you today—loud and clear.
