Insider’s Report: National Committee Prepares Defense of Social Security and Medicare
Very soon, the new Congress could try to ram through proposals like these which would devastate seniors’ retirement and health security:
Establishing a “Fiscal Commission” which could have the power to fast-track benefit cuts and radical “reforms” to Social Security and Medicare through Congress;
Establishing a “Fiscal Commission” which could have the power to fast-track benefit cuts and radical “reforms” to Social Security and Medicare through Congress;
Cutting the Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) which would hurt current retirees;
Raising the eligibility age for both Social Security and Medicare;
Privatizing Social Security for the benefit of Wall Street brokers; and
Reversing critical drug pricing reforms that lower prescription drug costs for seniors.

Privatizing Social Security for the benefit of Wall Street brokers; and
Reversing critical drug pricing reforms that lower prescription drug costs for seniors.
And so, 2025 could be the year in which the dam breaks and benefit cuts come rushing through Congress — unless we mobilize early and fight back!
In addition to ensuring that you and millions of other senior Americans are informed about fast approaching threats to your earned benefits, the National Committee is working to strengthen our grassroots support in every county in the country.
And on Capitol Hill, Max and the National Committee’s government relations staff have been meeting with key members of Congress about the aggressive agenda to cut Social Security and Medicare and our strategy to counter it.
And we are prioritizing meeting with politicians on both sides of the aisle who the National Committee believes will make the difference between whether a bill targeting benefits passes or is narrowly rejected in Congress. We are also highly engaged with our coalition partners and key congressional allies to ensure we are demonstrating a strong and united front against any effort to cut or privatize your earned benefits!
With so much at stake for seniors in the year ahead, please sign our Urgent Petition to Congress today ( [link removed] ) and help us remind lawmakers that they have an obligation to protect — not cut — seniors’ earned benefits.
