Dear Friend,
A few weeks ago, the Jack Miller Center hosted the second annual Teach for Freedom Dinner, drawing a sold-out crowd of over 300 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

The event, hosted alongside the National Summit on Civic Educatio ([link removed]) n ([link removed]) , was filled with insightful conversations about this critical moment in American education. The highlight was undoubtedly the thought-provoking discussion between Bari Weiss ([link removed]) , Founder of The Free Press ([link removed]) , and JMC Board Member Pete Peterson ([link removed]) .

Together, they explored the vital issue of reclaiming truth in higher education — a topic that is more pressing than ever.

Watch the Teach for Freedom Dinner program, including a conversation between Bari Weiss and Pete Peterson.
They discussed the culture on college campuses and the growing threats to free speech and other Western values. They also explored how individuals and ideas shape the future of our country, emphasizing the crucial role of civic education and courage in steering us back on course.

As Bari Weiss so eloquently put it, "There are people in this room, and I'm looking at some of them, who know American history and Jewish history 100 times better than me. But I guess I'm an example then in a way, Pete, of how a little bit of civics went a really long way".

Your generosity has played a key role in making events like this possible. By supporting the Jack Miller Center, you are helping to create spaces where these crucial conversations can take place — empowering educators, students, and community leaders to engage with the complex challenges we face today.

The Jack Miller Center is a nonpartisan educational venture to advance the work of scholars who teach and study the ideas, documents, and history we hold in common as Americans. We seek to grow the talent pipeline of university educators who teach the American political tradition, to forge new models for university-based training of K-12 civics and history teachers, and to build a diverse coalition of Americans to ignite a civic education renaissance.
