John,
Vice President-elect JD Vance has already indicated the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk and big pharma billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, will target Social Security.
In response, Elon Musk posted on X: “I can’t wait. There is a lot of waste and needless regulation in government that needs to go.”
No one voted for this. No one voted to cut Social Security. No one voted to cut Medicare. And no one voted for higher drug prices.
In fact, Donald Trump ran his campaign on a promise to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. There’s a good reason he didn’t campaign on cutting Social Security: Ninety-two percent of Americans are firmly against the idea.
But Trump’s got a long record of trying to cut benefits for working people, so it’s really no surprise he’s going back on his campaign promises. We’ve got to hold him accountable.
Sign on now to tell the incoming Trump Administration and Congress: Hands off Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid!
During Trump’s first term in the White House, he proposed dramatic cuts to our earned benefits — he sought to slash billions from every federal budget. We need to ensure he won’t do that again.
Thanks for taking action,
Democratic Values
