It has been just about a year since Alliance for Housing Solutions and NVAHA (Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance) united to form one regional organization. In January 2024, our merger allowed us to continue the 20-year efforts of AHS as we formed the first local alliance, NVAHA-Arlington.


As a unified organization, our goal is to be Regionally United and Locally Responsive.


This year, through our many partnerships, NVAHA-Arlington has been able to:

  • Gather monthly to share and strategize at our HAA (Housing Action Arlington) meetings,
  • Advocate for affordable housing programs and services for residents,
  • Achieve Arlington’s highest AHIF (Affordable Housing Investment Fund) allocation ever ($21.5M!),
  • Confer with County staff, commissions, and County Board members,
  • Engage the Latino community in Buckingham, and
  • Collaborate with our affordable housing developer partners in support of some very creative projects!

As we close out 2024, I’d like to thank each of you and your organizations for your on-going support and partnership. ​I look forward to working with all of you as we support further creativity in housing development and work in partnership with advocates, leaders, and housers, to protect our most vulnerable Arlington neighbors. 

 

As we know, Affordable Housing provides stability and opportunity. And Affordable Housing has a ripple effect that allows families and our whole community to flourish. Thank you for your continued commitment to an Arlington for Everyone!
