John,
Initially founded by Benjamin Franklin, for nearly 250 years, the United States Postal Service has faithfully served every community across the nation, no matter how far-flung or hard to reach. Now, Trump and his billionaire allies are determined to dismantle this essential public service, once again, putting profits over people.
There wasn’t always a partisan push to privatize the USPS. In 2022, Republicans and Democrats united to pass the Postal Service Reform Act with overwhelming bipartisan support. This is because the USPS isn’t just a mail service; it’s a promise to serve every American.
No matter where Americans live, even in places too remote to turn a profit, the USPS will deliver the mail. But now, the Republican push to privatize the Post Office is endangering many rural communities who rely on the USPS to receive their mail in a timely, affordable way.
Hundreds of Indigenous tribes, millions of seniors, veterans, small businesses, and many other Americans depend on affordable, reliable mail delivery for everything from vote-by-mail ballots to household goods and crucial, life-saving medications.
Send a direct message to Congress, to defend the USPS more strongly than ever. We must keep the Postal Service promise to serve every American, no matter how isolated or remote.
Privatization would increase costs, reduce access, and eliminate mail service altogether in areas that private companies decide are unprofitable to serve. For rural Americans, the consequences wouldn’t just be inconvenient -- they would be devastating.
Overwhelming bipartisan public opposition stopped Trump’s 2018 attempt to privatize the USPS. But now, the stakes are even higher, as Trump enlists billionaires Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, and other MAGA allies, to pressure Congress into breaking apart this cherished institution.
The USPS is the nation’s lifeline, ensuring delivery to every corner of the country. We cannot allow it to be dismantled, sold off, and handed over to Wall Street billionaires for profit.
Tell Congress: Just say no to USPS privatization -- now, or ever!
Thank you for standing up for a public service that serves the greater good!
