SF Chronicle: California sues EPA for suspending pollution enforcement during coronavirus pandemic

Team,

President Trump is using this crisis to give his corporate buddies a "free pass" to pollute our air and water. At the moment when we need clean air most, the EPA has announced a new regressive policy not to enforce our clean air and water laws during this pandemic.

This policy is dangerous. And we're suing the Trump administration to stop it. Will you stand with us?

The Trump administration's new policy allows businesses to decide for themselves when it would no longer be practical to monitor pollution and report it to federal, state, and local agencies. That's not how our environmental laws work -- they aren't optional.

With our climate and our health inextricably linked, now is perhaps the worst time not to enforce life-saving clean air and water laws. Evidence continues to grow that communities exposed to air pollution are at increased risk from coronavirus.

Team, there is no excuse for this regressive and dangerous policy. Can you stand with us today to protect our health and planet?

Add your name now: Our climate laws aren't optional. Not now. Not ever. No free pass for corporate polluters»

Whether it's protecting our healthcare, going after price gougers, or suing the President of the United States, we won't back down to protect the health of our communities. Thank you for standing with us.
