Updated WARN Act layoffs from EDD continue to show elevated numbers in the totals of employees subject to layoff, but many recent notices also continue to cover layoffs from earlier weeks. The number of permanent layoffs including from closures also are well above prior levels, but remain at about 8% of the totals. Most employers filing still anticipate the layoffs being temporary at this point.

By city, Los Angeles led with 10.3% of all layoffs, followed by San Diego at 7.1% and San Francisco at 6.3%.
