Mark Warner is proud to join his Senate colleagues to introduce the VoteSafe Act to expand early voting and vote-by-mail availability and make sure every American can safely cast their ballot in November.

The VoteSafe Act aims to help people cast their ballots safely by:

• Requiring every state to allow all residents to vote by mail in all 2020 elections;
• Mandating that every state conduct early in-person voting for at least 20 days prior to all remaining 2020 elections; and
• Improving the voter registration process so that everyone is ready for Election Day.

Thanks to our General Assembly, Virginia already has expanded ballot access, and Mark believes that every voter should have the same opportunity to safely cast their ballot. We have to act quickly on this — if these protections aren’t in place by the general election, folks will have to choose between protecting their health and voting. That’s not a choice anyone should have to make.
