It has been less than two months since the re-election of a billionaire who has promised to round up and deport millions of immigrants, sharply curtail civil liberties, dismantle core parts of the institutional infrastructure for governing, and shift billions more dollars to his cronies. 

As we reel in the enormity of what the incoming administration is promising, and what we and those we care about may face, I want you to know: you can count on UFE to continue doing the work we are here to do: creating inclusive, healing spaces for community leaders to reflect, restore, and organize to meet the challenges of this moment. And we need you to help resource us for the challenging months ahead.

I want to share with UFE’s community what I shared with our staff: it is ok not being ok. When you need to, please take time to reflect, disconnect and rest your mind and body. It is one way to challenge the oppressive systems we operate under. Your self-care es importante. We are in this together for the long haul.
